Eligibility of Participation

 

1. International Medical University Model United Nations (IMUxMUN) welcomes youth between the age of 15 to 25 years old from all countries who wish to gain experience in Model UN or with interest in learning international relations and diplomatic skills.

2. Participants should be enrolled in a High School or a University 

3. All delegates should choose from the 4 committee preferences and 4 country allocations provided

4. All matters regarding country allocations and committee preferences will be made at the discretion of the IMUxMUN secretariat

 

Registration

 

1. All registrations are accepted based on their application and confirmation will be announced within 3 working days after you have made your payment. Once maximum capacity is reached for one committee, delegates will be allocated to their second or third committee preferences.

 

Payment

 

1. Fees are non- refundable 

2. The provision of payment will be informed 2 weeks after payment has been made via the secretariat email.

Refund Policy

1. In the event of an unforeseen incidence (e.g. sickness) delegates may apply for a full refund of the ticket purchased at the latest 14 days before the event with the approval of the secretariat

2. For cancellation due to visa rejection, the delegates will get a full refund of the ticket purchased. The delegates should inform approximately 20 days before the event.

 

Visa

1. Upon request, successful registrants will be issued a Letter of Invitation from IMUxMUN'19 stating the status of their participation at IMUxMUN after a background check. Registrants may use the Letter of Invitation for their visa acquisition process.

 

Wi-fi on Campus

- A complimentary guest wifi account is accessible to use during your time at the conference.

- To connect with the IMU Guest Wifi, use your email address and password.

- If you need to print any conference materials, kindly get connected to our conference admins to help you out.      (Charges due apply)

 

Social Media Guidelines

Participants are required to abide by the International Medical University’s social media guidelines during the conference duration and for all posts related to the IMUxMUN conference.

Restrooms are located on each floor at the end of the building around the conference venues.

 

Travel Arrangements, Hotel, and Food.

 

Travel Arrangements

Delegates are required to make their own travel arrangements to the venue with their own cost. The venue is accessible by Grab, Personal Transportation, LRT, MRT, and Bus.

Hotel             

Reservations must be made through IMUxMUN for the discount rate. IMUxMUN negotiates a limited number of hotel rooms at this reduced rate. Once the rooms sell out and/or the deadline passes, whichever comes first, rooms may significantly increase in cost or be unavailable. Our discount rate is available for days before or after the conference at the discretion of the hotel. Please confirm rates and availability before making travel arrangements.

Foods Option

IMUxMUN'19 provides meals with a variety of options based on the delegates’ preference such as vegetarian food or other special dietary needs caused by their health conditions.

 

Code of Conduct

1. IMUxMUN reserves the right to utilize all data submitted by individuals to IMUxMUN, and to collect data in the form of photographs or videos during the conference and social events without limitations.

2. IMUxMUN reserves the right to update without further notice.

3. I agree that no data, results, and materials for use in IMUxMUN will be disseminated by means of publications, reports, conferences, or any other form without the express written consent from IMU x MUN of which these products, data, results, and materials are its exclusive property.

4. I hereby certify by completing the registration process that all information submitted is truthful and accurate and understand that falsification of any information will disqualify my participation in IMUxMUN and the IMUxMUN activities.

5. Chairs (Board of Dais) of IMUxMUN are not allowed to withdraw one month prior to the conference

6.  I understand that falsification of information or impersonation may result in legal actions abiding by the Malaysian law

7. I agree that all materials produced for this conference should be original work. 

8. I understand and oblige to obey the laws of Malaysia while participating in IMUxMUN.

9. I understand the full assumption of risks and acknowledge that IMUxMUN and its committee, elected representatives, volunteers and employees, do not assume any responsibility for the conduct and activities of the participants

10. All payments are to be made by 5th of October 2019

11. I agree to attend all committee sessions included in the conference schedule. If unable to attend the session for personal or health reasons, I will notify Head of Admin (Ilyas or Yih Shin) as soon as possible. I understand I should not leave conference activities without informing a staff member.

12. I will arrive ON TIME or early to all sessions and conference activities

13. I understand the dress code for most of the conference events is business casual. Any exceptions are listed in the summit schedule.

14. I will conduct myself appropriately during committee sessions by listening, asking relevant questions and participating actively in all conference activities.

15. I will engage respectfully when conversing with other delegates, conference staff members and IMU staff.

16. I will be considerate of everyone’s personal space, preferences and property I understand that I am responsible for any damage that I make at the International Medical University property, including my room at the IMU Student Accommodation (if applicable)

17. I understand no drugs or alcohol are allowed into the University premises including my room at the IMU Student Accommodation (if applicable)

18. I understand that the use of illegal drugs at the conference and, including my room at the IMU Student Accommodation (if applicable) is unacceptable and prohibited 

19. I understand that to possess or consume alcohol in Malaysia, I must be 21 years of age and older

20. I agree to take responsibility for any behavior or activity I engage in outside of campus and off conference duration, including my room at the IMU Student Accommodation (if applicable).

21. I understand that weapons and look-alike weapons, or objects that may be used to threaten, intimidate or harm others or to damage property may not be brought to the conference, including my room at the IMU Student Accommodation (if applicable).

22. I understand that any object that carries potential harm towards the safety of another person may be considered as a weapon and bringing that item to the conference is grounds for immediate disciplinary action, including suspension or dismissal.

 

I have read all of the above expectations of the International Medical University Model United Nations Code of Conduct. I agree to follow the International Medical University Model United Nations Code of Conduct. I understand that I am fully responsible for my actions, and failure to adhere to these rules may result in immediate suspension/dismissal from the IMUxMUN 2019 at my own expense.
